By downloading, installing, or using Ebb, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Ebb is offered by Syntay (“we”, “us”, “our”), an individual developer operating under that name, reachable at contact@syntay.com.
What Ebb is
Ebb is a menstrual-cycle and reproductive-health tracking app that runs entirely on your device. It has no account system and no server — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means for your data.
Who can use Ebb
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for using apps like this without parental consent in your country, if that's higher).
What's free, and what's paid
Cycle predictions, daily logging (flow, symptoms, mood, intimacy, basal body temperature, notes), the calendar, reminders, encrypted backup and restore, and the app lock — including the decoy PIN. We will never move any of this behind a purchase. That's a commitment, not a marketing line — it's enforced in the app's own code.
Optionally paid, via a one-time or recurring purchase of your choice: a set of extra tools — currently the BMI calculator, due-date calculator, kick counter, contraction timer, BBT ovulation check, date forecast, cycle-regularity report, doctor-visit summary, and history report. We may add tools to this paid set over time; we won't move something you already have free access to into the paid set.
Purchases, subscriptions, and billing
All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. By making a purchase you're also agreeing to Google Play's Terms of Service for that transaction.
- Plans. A monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase are available. All three unlock the same set of paid tools.
- Auto-renewal. The monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the price and interval you selected, until you cancel. You're charged through your Google Play account.
- Cancellation. Cancel anytime via Google Play (Play Store → your account → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access for the period already paid for.
- Lifetime is a one-time payment with no recurring charge and no expiration — it unlocks the paid tools for as long as you keep using that Play account with the app.
- Price changes: Google Play notifies you before a new price applies to your next renewal, per Play's own policies.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play's refund policies, not directly by us — we never receive or hold your payment information.
- Restoring a purchase (new device, reinstall, same Google account) is available in the app.
Your data
Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. In short: your cycle data and logs stay on your device, encrypted, and we never see them — purchases are the only thing that touches a network, and that traffic never includes your health information.
Acceptable use
Use Ebb for your own personal, non-commercial cycle tracking. Don't reverse-engineer or tamper with the app to circumvent its security or purchase mechanisms, use it unlawfully, or misrepresent your identity to obtain a purchase or refund you're not entitled to.
Intellectual property
The Ebb name, logo, and app design are ours. The data you enter is yours — we make no claim to it, and we have no access to it regardless.
No warranty
Ebb is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app is error-free or uninterrupted. In particular — and this matters for a health app — we don't guarantee the accuracy of any prediction, and you should not rely on Ebb as your sole source of information for a medical or reproductive-health decision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Syntay is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ebb — including reliance on a prediction, loss of data (e.g. a lost device with no backup, or a forgotten unlock PIN with no recovery passphrase and no backup), or a purchase dispute Google Play is better positioned to resolve. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any. Nothing here limits any liability that can't be limited under the law protecting consumers in your jurisdiction.
Termination
Stop using Ebb anytime by uninstalling it. We may stop offering Ebb, or a feature, at any time; terms about anything you've already purchased still apply to that purchase.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised terms here. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Ebb after a change means you accept the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
